This class will teach the basics of painting with acrylics to beginners and encourage intermediate students to explore their own techniques and creativity.

Subjects will varied, elements of composition will be explored, colour and brushstroke will be encouraged. The class will cover many aspects of the medium and techniques, including the addition of mixed media and acrylic mediums.

Printmaking | Introduction to linocuts

A linocut is a printmaking technique that creates wonderfully bold images, the bonus is you can use the technique at home with a minimum of materials. For this one day introduction to linocuts, Mellissa will show you how to transfer your drawing onto the a lino block, how to use lino cut tools to carve your image, and how to print print by hand (without a press) on Japanese paper. The use of colour can be incorporated with a second linoblock and simple forms of registration and this will be demonstrated.
